Tiger Woods return the cort

The injury to Woods’ left knee, and the surgery to repair a torn anterior cruciate ligament, could easily have ended his career. He was expected to return to action in two weeks’ time, to begin preparing for the US Masters in April, and the very fact that Woods, whose important decisions are made with great care and good sense, has declared himself fit for an event that can mean seven rounds over five days is the best indication that all is well.

He played his last shot in competition in mid-June. The short putt to win the playoff in the US Open at Torrey Pines gave him his 14th major victory and his 65th on the PGA tour. What is likely to happen now he back is pretty obvious, especially when the next championship field assembles in Augusta, but what has happened in his absence has been informative and surprising.
