I had asked my StateSenator to inquire about my case and the senator office got back in 2 weeks saying that the USCIS liaiason informed that all looks good on my case and that cards should be ordered within 30 days. Six days after that i.e. today I got a notice saying cards were ordered.
Now how does that makes me an anti-immigrant :mad: :mad: :mad: . I am ofcourse happy that so many of my friends here are going one step further in getting GC. Something is better than nothing. But, suddenly more than 1/2 mill people getting EAD will have some effect on the market. People(on H1B) loosing jobs after 3-4 months may find themselves in a difficult situation to get a job.
I am on H1B myself, how can I ever be an anti-immigrant ?:) :) I was expecting a little bit more permamnent solution and not a band-aid solution as somebody pointed out.
ur contradicting urself, all getting GC's or EAD's is still the same to the job market ,permanent or band aid , effect on job market is gonna be the same so in effect either ways that was an anti immigrant statement

As of now, for the background/name check -time frame in FBI rule-book is 120 days. It will be great if uscis can approve AOS if nothing adverse is reported by FBI within 120 days

It was good to see and meet you at the rally .I was wondering if IV or its leadership have any updates on, when any bill ( if any) will be unveiled in the house . The end of the year is fast approaching and although we hear every other day that Nancy Pelosi or Zoe Loefgren is going to unveil something , nothing seems to happen . Only letters are flying back and forth each day from Governers and Tech industry representatives , but there seems to be no action . I prefectly agree with the fact that people are getting a bit overly impatient on the issues here , but I who has been patiently waiting and waiting and working with the state chapters just see a lull and silence on the immigration front ( Skilled and Unskilled ) . No one wants to talk about it or do anything about it on the Hill.Please prove me wrong here , I WANT TO BE WRONG !!!

Employers will not be allowed to asked the status. You are supposed to give your Z-plastic card after you accept the offer and the prospective employer accepts you. If he fires you since you are Z-class, then you are eligible to sue the employer for 1 mil $$. These are the amendments that will be passed along with this stuppp...d CIR.
I was thinking how to get a high tec job with Z visa. Because you might need to tell the employer that you are on Z visa. Tech employer might be hesitent to give us job on Z visa.
But you can start a new company and do consulting. You do not need to tell them what status you are in. All they need to know is you are a employee XYZ company.

We have shown the CA (Chartered Accountncy) equivalent to both a US bachelor's degree and a US Masters degree with an expert opinion letter. As far as I know they have all been approved. We have detailed research and we suggest the attorney cite it in the brief as well because that makes the case even stronger than just citing it in an evaluation or expert opinion letter.

I wish some group were working on getting attached in some bill a provision that lets the H-4s work. I thought we had a good chance because it is under discussion a bill similar to Bill S.2611 that would let the spouses of the Illegal workers regularized under Blue card status to also work so I assumed that a some point they were going to have a provision for the spouses of H-1Bs. I hope IV and QGA are doing something about this. If no group brings to the senators etc.'s attention that there is a part unattended regading the H-1B spouses right to work, nothing would happen. Here is what I am trying to say:
If S.2611 is going to be discussed in the senate/house, this will allow the spouse of the Blue card status worker (previously illegal worker and now regularized) to work for any employer -while the spouse is in blue card status-, shouldn't it be mentioned in the same law in the parragraph with the H-1B and dependandts provision that that the same applies for the H-1B spouses -that they could work for any employer while the H-1B status of the spouse is valid-? The L-1 spouses can work too so why do we H-4s have to suffer? Why nobody is advocating this?
