I consider myself liberal as in live and let live. This depiction pushes envelope big time. Along with rights comes the responsibilites.

I did not marry the man I was engaged to. I came here initially for ONE month and was approved at the airport customs terminal to stay that long. When I got here, it was for a visit with my fiance only. Unfortunately, things did not work out and we broke it off. Thank God! However, I was staying with his uncle and aunt, and they had a disabled man in the house. HE turned out to be my sponsor when they asked me to care for him while they were doing long haul trucking. I agreed to do this and we immediately contacted USCIS to get instructions on what needed to be filed first. With that information in hand, we filed everything they requested. All the stuff on the RFE I received has never been mentioned before now and if it had, it would have been filed along with the rest. There are tons of applications, how is one supposed to know what to file and when if there are no specific instructions? I have gone through all the copies we have of all the required applications and I still do not see anything where all these other forms
If all of this was illegal, then why was I not informed of this nearly 6 years ago when we filed the first application? Seems a bit odd that if I was illegal and they know where I am and who I live with that they wouldn't be quick to throw me out, but they have not done so.
My former fiance has nothing to do with this, I never intended to stay here when I first came, it was merely a visit but circumstances were such that I was needed at a moment's notice so we filed the necessary paperwork as quickly as possible and thought we were doing the right thing. No one has ever said otherwise until now and I think that is rather unfair to spring it all on me at this point and expect me to get it all done within 30 days. I know I am not the only applicant out there and I realize there is a huge backlog of other applications, I'm not that stupid to think that they will make me a priority, but one measly letter informing me that I was here illegally sometime over a 6 year period is not asking to much is it? Why would they send me all the other Notices of Action if I was here illegally and they knew it?
Something is terribly screwed up and I guess I have no choice but to find an attorney who can deal with this mess.
I dont think your issuse can be fixed even by attorney. You are not coming under any category to file Green Card. So prepare for yourself to go back and build your life back in canada.

My brother had horror stories when he was working in CA. His close friend cousin owns a company and he blindely trusted him. They forced my brother to sign a contract in the amount of $10000 if he leaves the company. He spent there for 6 months and found it horrible. He finally decided to leave the company and lost 1.5 month pay. Now he has the following issues.
1. He did not get his W2. And the company is not responding to his queries for his W2
2. He had to pay the tax on the amount which he did not received any money for 1.5 months
I hate desi companies as they take advantage of people and threaten them. Please share your ideas how can he proceed on his situation.

I checked on the site you mentioned. I can see so many approvals for the dates after mar-01. There are approvals on mar-01, mar-07, mar-09, mar-11, mar-12, mar-14, mar-15, mar-16 etc etc for the Atlanta center. I dont know what made you think that the process was slowed sin Mar-01.

EB2 I/C won't be current in the next 4-5 Years, the EB2 I/C demand till date (Today’s Date) is in the 100K - 120K Range. The EB2I/C demand till Jul/Aug 2007 is easily in the 40-45K Range so it will require a very over optimistic scenario to clear by Sep 2011. EB3 ROW will reach end of 2006 by FY 2011. So there is a very long way to go. All the movement is under many assumptions most important being the economy and unemployment, anytime this changes all spillover will collapse and there will really be no difference between EB2 I/C and EB3 I/C.

Congress never intended to make people for 10 years to get their green cards. So no one asked us that wait for 10 years either. But we paid taxes for all those 10 years. And my tax $$$, government has decided to bailout banks telling them not to hire me. Again, no one asked me how they will spend my tax $$$ just like no one asked me to come to this country.
Sense of entitlement comes from sense of connection and sense of what we deserve. I am entitled to permanent residency because my wife and I have paid around 1/2 million in taxes in last 10 years, more than 99% of "ALL AMERICAN" FAMILIES. So don't tell us what we are entitled and what we are not entitled for, because that's ridiculous.

Yes, if all this is true, then going the lawsuit way is not the right step. They should now use this to force USCIS make some changes. One of them would allowing to file I-485 right after I-140 approval irrespective of whatever the PD is. When PDs become current the processing will start. This change will give releif to a lot of victims and future filers.

Atlast I received My Welcome notice on 05/05/08 morning. First I received Card Production order and after couple of hours I received Welcome notice mailed. Today I received Approval Notice sent mail at 5:00 PM

At the risk of getting red dots. let me give my two cents. All the flower campaign and protests worked when USCIS did a screw up, this time around it's not USCIS thats screwing up it's the DOS that allocates the # of visas.
No point sending USCIS flowers. And honestly. Everyone except India EB3 and China EB3 are in good shap they will get their GC's within 5 years which is not a bad wait. Chinese people are not like Indians they come here and hardly go back to their home country so they dont care. It's only India EB3 that is significantly affected and in this uncertain times no one cares about a small chunk of India EB3 and That is the Fact.
And it's preposturous to think that DOS and USCIS are not aware of this. They are very well aware of this and they dont give a damn about us. I know certain people will come here shouting what did u do for that cause.. U can make calls write letters but INDIA EB3 is not the priority for anyone right now. we are the least in the chain.
Whoever has approved 140 can bite the bullet and switch jobs if they want to.. The best one can hope for is things could become different with the economy going up and a change of government.
Until then enjoy what u have and have fun.. :D:D
